As the Associate VP Technology, you will be Bede’s senior technical authority in Canada, responsible for leading architectural integrity, solution scalability, and regulatory compliance across our platform engagements. Reporting to the VP Technology and serving as part of Bede Canada’s Senior Management Team, you will act as the technical face of Bede to clients, prospects, and partners—driving excellence in service delivery, platform evolution, and strategic technology decisions.
You’ll champion high-performance, low-latency, cloud-native architecture at scale—ensuring our solutions meet the demanding needs of the regulated iGaming sector. Your work will bridge technical vision with operational reality, creating a trusted, secure, and seamless player experience.

What you'll be doing

  • Serve as the technical authority for all aspects of the Bede platform and associated third-party integrations.
  • Lead the technical definition and validation of solutions across the full lifecycle, from initial client engagements through to delivery and ongoing operations.
  • Ensure all technical services are delivered in accordance with Bede’s Service Catalogue and contractual obligations.
  • Embed regulatory and security compliance into architectural designs, particularly around data sovereignty, player protection, and platform integrity.
  • Provide architectural oversight on product enhancements, environment changes, and cross-party integrations.
  • Be the primary technical interface for new business development, RFP responses, and partner engagements.
  • Maintain alignment with Bede’s strategic and operational goals while being responsive to client-specific needs and compliance frameworks.
  • Champion operational excellence through collaboration with DevOps and SRE teams to ensure reliability, observability, and scalability.
  • Cultivate trust-based relationships with client technical leadership and internal teams.

What we are looking for

Essential: 
  • Significant experience in senior architecture or technical leadership roles, ideally within the iGaming, FinTech, or another high-scale regulated industry.
  • Strong knowledge of systems architecture, platform design, and cloud-native infrastructures, with a preference for Microsoft Azure.
  • Full stack technology expertise, particularly:
  • Frameworks for web and mobile apps such as React.
  • Enterprise Grade Content Management Systems deployments such as Adobe Experience Manager
  • Enterprise Customer Relationship Management tools such as Adobe Campaign.
  • Personalisation tools such as Adobe target.
  • Experience designing and operating low-latency, high-throughput, high-availability platforms.
  • Deep understanding of security frameworks (ISO 27001, GDPR, PCI DSS, etc.) and applying them in production environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business contexts.
  • Experience managing complex vendor relationships and subcontracted software deliverables.
  • Strong knowledge with event-driven architectures, real-time data processing, and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Working knowledge of DevOps, SRE, and modern SDLC practices.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with regulated gaming bodies such as AGCO, UKGC and MGA
  • Hands-on experience in solution security design, incident response planning, and risk assessment.
